started back to work today. Yesterday on the way to school I was explaining to Dannika how the morning schedule would change, that we would all get up earlier to make sure we could get ready without being late so I can walk her to school each morning.
We chatted about the change. Then she titled her head, looked at me curiously and asked, Mom, if you are the one going back to work, will you still be the boss of the house...
I did Dave. I laughed, very perceptive child she is. I said, "Don't worry Dannika, no matter what happens, Mom will always be the boss of the house." She laughed too, in a very adult, knowing manner and said, "I know that."
Then we had a real talk about shifting family responsibilities etc...

I hope you assured her THAT wouldn't change.
