I was chatting with a woman the other day, and it came up that I had three kids under the age of five.
Me: Yup. A four-year old, a two-year old, and a six-month old.
Her: Wow. You started having kids late in life.
Me: (pause) I was 26.
Her: But that would make you...
Me: I turned 31 last week.
Her: (pause) Well, you, uh, started early then. I guess.

I'm not sure if that conversation speaks to life cycles/options in Sydney or the fact that having kids ages you. I creak.
Well, I looked 30 when I was 19. I can only assume I look 40+ now. Thanks to this lady for confirming.

The beard is a ready-made explanation for why people mistake you for an older man. Without it, you'll have to admit to yourself... you look terminally middle aged :) mp

I've always looked younger than my age. When I was 18 and couldn't get into bars because I looked no older than 15, people would tell me that someday I'd be grateful for my youthful look.
It seems that day has arrived. Tee hee.

Hmmm ... I still think that's better than me being CARDED and told I could only stay at the pub for another half hour (till 9pm) if I didn't provide proof that I'm almost 31. Then again, maybe if someone offered me the senior's discount instead, I'd be upset too. :P
I have never been carded. Even on my 19th birthday.
Erin looks much younger than she is. Always has. When she was 27, a woman took matches away from her because she thought she would hurt herself.
