    I just realized why. Tankers full of crude emotion arrive daily in Saint John to be refined into happiness.

    It all makes sense now.

    I suggested to dad, when he told me this, that if you didn't like Saint John chances are you'd find both an opportunity and good reason to leave. Thus leaving a city filled with people who WANT TO BE THERE.
    That equals happiness.
